Rossella Rossi’s painting highlights the beauty of water, a vital element essential to the balance of ecosystems. Her exhibition explores this theme through the contrasts of day and night. Playing with symbolic colors—ochre for light, blue for water, red for life, and green for nature—she creates a powerful and telluric art, blending shadow and luminous bursts.

Her works merge water and sky, reflecting a poetic and emotional vision of the world, where figuration emerges only at the end of the creative process, thus belonging to a form of “subjective figuration.”

Philippe Castanet and Rossella Rossi: the Art and Science duo at the helm!

For the fourth edition of World Water Day celebrated at his firm, Gilles Hittinger-Roux and Galerie Roanne de Saint-Laurent organized, with our support, an exceptional evening marked by the threat of a major flood in June 2025, a 100-year replica of the 1910 flood. Philippe Castanet, former Prefect of Lozère and Director of Finance at the @prefpolice in Paris, now Director General of the @metropole_du_grand_paris, spoke passionately about the subject. Anxious subject if there ever was one, but one that the State has anticipated with great anticipation, as the threat is reinforced by the climate change we witness (almost) every day… The subject was also soothed by the sublime work of Rossella Rossi, a renowned Italian artist and beloved child of the Mediterranean, who unveiled a new series of canvases, her Nocturnes, illuminating the manifestation of her smile and her love for the element that is the source of our happiness and our worries: Water.

The excellent news is that you’ll be able to meet Rossella Rossi again on March 8 at the same address (55 avenue Kleber) and deepen your encounter with her work and visions, all more interior than exterior, all more grandiose than minimalist, offering a total immersion in the artist’s soul.

The exhibition is a poetic and immersive journey between fiction and reality, an ode to Mediterranean nature, where the boundaries between sea, land and sky disappear…

Saint-Tropez is the twin of Varigotti, the fishing village where Rossella grew up, and this region has always been close to her heart. Situated on the shores of the Mediterranean, in Liguria, a land of horizons, salt and rocks, it is a place that is both isolated and at the centre of the world, a place that is part of time by abolishing the boundaries between the present and the past, where light reigns supreme. Saint-Tropez is a natural link between Mediterranean cultures, echoing the world.

Showcasing a large number of his most recent oil paintings, mosaics and a few sculptures, this particularly dense exhibition multiplies the ways in which his work is presented, notably through an immersive installation that will invite the public to take the time to sit down and immerse themselves in the paintings that cover all the walls of the exhibition, in a poetic reverie.

The gallery’s reception area will also feature lithographs and books by the artist. Rossella was born and raised in Liguria, Italy. A researcher in molecular biology at the CNRS on the subject of DNA replication for over 15 years, she then turned to painting, taking courses at the Beaux-Arts in Paris and Milan. Her work can be found in major public and private collections around the world.
